Clean Energy Tax Credit Vote Expected
The fate of an amendment
that would extend the wind production tax credit and a host of other clean
energy tax incentives remains unknown. In addition to extending the 2.2-cent-per-kilowatt
wind production tax credit, which expires at the end of 2012, the amendment to
the pending surface transportation bill (S. 1813) offered by Sen. Stabenow
would extend 17 other incentives. They include several that are among the
renewable energy industry's top priorities, such as the Section 1603 Treasury
Department grant in lieu of tax credits program and the 48C advanced energy
manufacturing tax credit, which reached its cap of $2.3 billion in 2010.
