The Senate will likely vote soon to repeal about $4 billion
in “subsidies” or tax breaks for major oil and gas companies, In February, the
White House announced that it plans to eliminate almost $40 billion in fossil
fuel tax subsidies over the next decade.
Energy Secretary Chu is scheduled to meet with senior business
executives today to discuss the use of tax equity partnerships to finance
renewable energy projects, at a summit being presented by the White House.
