Senate Hearing Will Consider Online Sales Tax Bills
Business activity and online sales are expected to take
center stage at today's Senate Finance Committee hearing. The committee hearing
is set to address state and local tax and fiscal policy, including states' use
of bonds that exempt interest from federal income taxes and bonds that provide
federal tax credits. The hearing likely will be a chance for lawmakers to
address a variety of other state tax issues that have been considered in the
House but not in the Senate.
